[hhh] Hash Run for Monday 20th February

Hi Hashers,

Next  Run:

When:      Monday 20th February at 6pm
Hare:        Feel Free
Where:     1, Commercial Road, Alstonville

Last Run:

When:      Monday 13th February at 6pm
Hare:        Way But and The 12th Man
Where:     Z Block Herb Garden, Rifle Range Road, Lismore

Excellent location for a run as everyone had a chance to wander around the herb garden and do a bit of weeding. A good run and walk as we managed to avoid Cynthia Wilson Drive - except for Canardleigh who arrived late and decided to run up it. The walkers managed to shortcut bits of the run (with the help of a map) arriving back at the Herb Garden at the same time as the runners.

Heaps of food, juicy melons, tasty quiches and salads - all prepared by the "boys". Downs Downs for the Hares - with a new song - plus the birthday girls of MissTaken, Rosie and Headlamps. We then all overindulged on a hummingbird birthday cake baked by MissTaken.

What a fantastic run and walk Slurrr!! We probably were never more than a kilometre from the start, but we must have done every lane and street on the inaugural South Lismore "Dunny Lane Run". No one shortcutted, as everyone precisely followed the written instructions provided by Slurrr (although the walkers did a little shortcut when Goanna (me) mixed up her left and right). A great hash with the walkers and runners arriving back at the same time.

Down Downs to Slurrr, as the Hare, John the Baptist as he whinged he never got a Down Down when he set a run and Runnymead and Dragin the Chain for attending two runs in a row. We all then tucked int a magnificent spread of quiches, slices and salads all provided by Slurrr.

Last Run:

Where:     157 Invercauld Road, Goonellabah,

The weather held, despite forecasts of showers, but a cross country walk and run ensured everyone got wet feet. Retread set the walk that followed the runners across the valley and then went anti-clockwise away from more mud. The runners following Hash Brown and Impulse turned clockwise, across paddocks, streams and barbed wire fences with several  Hashers following John the Baptist and having fun with rocks in the water and with cow pats. Mike was suitably named Dung Beetle following an entertaining (?) dung throwing competition. ON Downs were also given to Goanna (me) for her inability to count and to Hash Brown for eventually retiring.

Aunty Lush served up an excellent Australia Day nosh of pie, peas and potatoes and led the singing of Advance Australia Fair.
